Haven.com/notw Holiday Reviews

hannah on haven.com/notw : i recently got back from Martoon Mere and it was absoouletly fantastique and its got relli friendly staff they end up being like family the fun star staff were fantastique ecspeacially paul if any of you read this then thanks i would recommend this to anyone lookin to go to haven go to martoon mere

www.haven.com/raringtogoB Croft on haven.com/notw : I own a 3 bedroom 8 berth caravan at Hafan Y Mor which I rent out (acegrad1@yahoo.co.uk if interested) and since buying it our holidays have totally changed. There is never a dull moment there. It is busy and lively for the kids and families but there are plenty of quiet bits to chill out too. Its fab

Vicky on haven.com/notw : Our family love going on holiday at Haven sites. We have been going at least twice a year for about 6 years now and have loved it everytime. We have stayed at three of the parks these being Marton mere, Lakeland and Cala Gran.

The Marton mere showbar the best out of the three parks and the caravans that we stayed in on this site were all up to standard. Only once was the caravan not up to standard and this was resolved as soon as we brought this to the attention of the reception staff and we were relocated to a caravan that not only met but exceeded our expectations.

Cala Gran had a really good entertainment team and all of our party got involved with the night time entertainment. By the end of the weekend we had other holiday makers asking us when and if we were returning because they wanted to book the same time as us due to how well we interacted with the entertainment team.

The Lakeland park had an amazing team working there and by the end of the week long stay none of us wanted to leave (including the dog). The entertainment team were all really nice and welcoming. They had so much energy and provided great entertainment all night long. The security staff were really pleasent and it made all the difference to be greated with a smiling face and a hello when entering the complex and a goodnight when leaving. The bar staff were on the whole nice and helpful. The sports and leisure team were really nice and very helpful when a youger member of the party cut himself. They made him feel very at ease while they patched him up. It was also nice that when members of staff were not working and had days off etc they still made the effort to come over and say hello and have a chat.

Overall Haven Holidays have provided us with some of the most memorable holidays that we have ever had be it in the UK or abroad. We will continue to go to Haven and are about to go on our 4th holiday this year with Haven.
Lets see how Presthaven Sands matches up with the Haven parks in the North West.

Steve Brown on haven.com : Went to Hafan y mor with wife and three kids, never again, staff are mainly thick, overpricing all over the park, building site and a fourty min check in,cold water in main indoor pool and no way of getting to the beach if you have a pram/pushchair/wheelchair.

j.rowland & family on haven.com/notw : RE: CRAIG TARA. We booked our holiday at the last minute in september 07, after 10 mins I came across these reviews and was horrified at the comments. We went there expecting the worst ; but to our surprise and relief we had the best holiday at a haven site we have ever had. The food in the half board complex was out of this world, everything we ate was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and helpfull. The chalet we stayed in was clean but admittedly did smell of cigarette smoke for the first day. I recommend this park to anyone who has any doubts about booking after reading the earlier comments.

A.Little says: If you go to Haven at Caister don't take a chalet as it makes an army camp look wonderful, these must date from the 1950's and haven't been updated.

Caroline Quinn on www.haven.com/notw : Seton Sands - be warned - it's like the land of the living dead! I've just received a reponse from Haven to my letter complaining about my 'holiday' experience at Seton Sands. Two pages of apologies for everything that is wrong with the place. Accommodation not quite up to scratch; cleanliness issues in restaurant etc. (they actually admit that their team of cleaners struggle to keep the areas clean); site shop closed an hours before time; entertainment boring; Cockenzie power station, two miles away, dominates the view, rocky beach etc etc. Despite leaving after three days Haven still believe that they offer a high standard at Seton Sands and don't believe they have broken their contract with us. However, after reading reviews on other centres it appears that their customer care policy is a sham.
.

L Till on haven.com/notw : I recently went to Golden Sands with my family and we will NOT be recommending it to anyone. There was litter in the bushes next to the caravan. The carpets were dirty. The cushion covers in the living/dining area were falling to pieces and the walls were covered in damp. Nobody had checked the gas before we arrived so that ran out within 5 minutes of using it. Im glad we took our own bedding because the quilts they had provided had stains on. The complex toilets were the dirtest toilets i've ever seen. We went bowling the first day there, the carpet in that area was sticky with something and it was still like it when we left four days later. Golden Sands was described as a lively park, well that's a joke, a funeral parlour is more lively than that place. The only good thing about the park is that it's not far away from Butlins and Skegness town where i can guarantee you a
good day out.

L Cannon on www.haven.com/notw : Just packed up early from a camping holiday at Reighton Sands, where do I begin! Tent field is a hillside rolling to a cliff face, really hard to find a level pitch. My two kids love swimming but begged to get out of the overcrowded pool infested with dead flies, clumps of hair and grass!
The shower block and toilet facilities were rubbish and dirty with a lack of hot water. For campers, dish washing facilities consisted of two sinks and one plug for the whole field to share. Rowdy foul mouthed youths were allowed to stay on the site after being spoken to by inadequet security (NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY). To cap it all tent pitches are farthest away from any on site amenities, shop etc. Although after using the shop with grumpy staff I wouldn't personally return. As for a Haven holiday what a joke NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!!

Jean Miles on haven.com : We are currently at Haven,Burnham on Sea,and have had wonderful fortnight,we will definitely be back.We have 2 tourers, and we bring the family, the 2children love it,as does the 15 yr.old grandaughter . The food, entertainment, and fun stars, are brilliant,we are very well impressed. We shall be back in August when my daughter- singer- Debbie miles will be entertaining here again.THIS IS A Far superior holiday village, IN THIS AREA , we've been to over the years.

Lucy on haven.com : I love it

Dawn on haven.com : We have just stayed at craig tara and what a dump of a caravan for a silver, diry windows in side and out, dirty carpets and dirty walls, spiders webs and damp would not go back again

K Row on haven.com : i went to haven's golden sands , and had the sun holiday, thinking i was getting a 2 bedroom caravan, ended up with a 3 bedroom right next to all clubs and entertaiment so it was great, caravan was very clean apart from cobwebs in skylight which i did tell them before i left. beach was brillant...bit dissapointed that you had to pay for bouncy castle etc for kids, but apart from that will definatley go again next year for longer

M Hughes says: if u want a good holiday then dont go to craig tara its filthy with useless staff a total dump

N Harvey says: We've just come back from a short break at Hopton and I'd just like to say that it was fantastic. The staff, entertainment was spot on. The caravan was emaculate. It was clean and tidy to the highest standards. WELL DONE HOPTON.

M.Jarvis says: I took my 2 teenage daughters to Doniford Bay, with high expectations following previous years with Haven. This was by far the worst location I have ever stayed in. The camp was bland and boring, and the "apartment" we were given was so bad that I took my keys back immediately and told them I was leaving. After some lip biting they agreed to upgrade to a "Chalet", which was only slightly better. My daughters were almost in tears with disappointment. They nicknamed it the "shack" and we were glad to leave. Add to this a damaged double bed, which took 2 days for them to replace (I had to throw it out of the chalet before they would deal with it) and it adds up to a disasterous holiday. The Haven site does not give detailed information on individual sites, and I felt very cheated.

THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE GOING TO DONIFORD BAY!

Olivia says: I think the hoildays are great

Susan M. says: stayed at craig tara 6/7/2007 for 7 nights this is the most filthiest park i have ever stayed at chalets were filthy resaurant was filthy clubs overcrowed and very expensive staff not very friendly BEWARE

C. Catteli says: My family have stayed in Craig Tara lots of times...we all love it...A bus comes into the park hourly for anyone wanting to go to the main town of Ayr...There are lots of things to do for both children and adults...also caravan has been very clean and fitted all our needs...staff have always been friendly as well....Lood forward to returning to Craig Tara this year again...

Archie M says: We stayed at Craig Tara last year and enjoyed it

Rona S says: i have been to haven craig tara for the last three years and am going again in a week yes we had a dirty chalet but our experience of the staff was that everyone is very helpful and the problems rectified immediately haven is meant for families on a slightly lower income and is very child orientated the chalets are clean and comfortable what you'd expect from a haven park the entertainment is great and very child orientated i would recommend craig tara for families who want clean comfortable accomodation and value for money!!!!!!

Miss Kehoe says: couldnt agree more with j spencer dont know where to begin with our so called "holiday".our caravan was filthy too.there were stains everywhere with a disgusting musty odour.the sofa smelt like they been in a pub for the last 20yrs and smelt of must and oily sweat(YUK).i had to put cushions down because they were grimey.the carpet was stained as were the two stools provided.there was no storage for clothes just 2 tiny wardrobes,no hangers,no drawers either.my bedroom had 2 pieces of wood with nails where the drawers should have been.my sons bedside cabinet came away from the wall completely and had a spinning shelf inside?there were ants everywhere which i was later told by the ass.manager was to be expected and can happen anywhere???thank for that.the bathroom had 3 nails hammered into the old towel rail for you towels to go on or possibly a child to fall on after having a shower.the showere cubicle was tiny.god help anyone tall or size 18 or over.how embarrassing.the step into the caravan was teetering on a pavement slab and was a second away from collapsing when my partner spotted it before i fell off.there was a loaf of bread under our caravan for 2days. Wonder why the ants came?we were offered compensation of free meal vouchers(JOKE)and when we were offered 1free meal and complained we were treated like school kids by the girl dealing with us who also told us we had enough time to enjoy what was left of the holiday!she found the whole thing funny and started grinning as we were carted off to a side room to talk in private.she proceeded to tell us wed misunderstood her and when i confronted her and said id seen her smirking and my son saw it too i was threatened with the security.lovely just because i raised my voice because we were getting nowhere and being patronised with 1meal voucher offer.we wasted 1half days unpacking our stuff to move to a better caravan which somehow according the the ass.manager we should have been compensated by????something we explained we were entitled to in the first place.we came home 1day early because we were so depressed and couldnt shake off the whole incident.dont go there a complete and utter dump.

Val F says: We have stayed on many Haven parks over the years and always have had a fantastic time. Brilliant accommodation. Very helpful and friendly staff. APART FROM COOMBE MARTIN. We were given a 2 storey apartment instead of a Silver caravan we had booked. The accommodation was filthy. We had to clean it before we could stay. It took nearly a week of the 2 week stay to finally get our caravan. When we did we had a beautiful view of the landfill sight!!!! The seagulls were enormous!!! Really and truly, we think this was the very worst park you could get. Craig Tara, Primrose Valley, (our favourite) Donniford Bay and Devon Cliffs to name but a few, are superb. We will continue with haven for the coming years now the grandchildren are coming along..

L.Sheldon says: Just come back from Golden Sands. Fantastic park. Would recommend booking Gold accommodation, so much better than basic. Entertainment fantastic and the family club room was open all day so no queuing for a hour outside just to get a good table. The food in the Quayside diner was fantastic. Best place to eat on resort. One of the best beaches in this country in Mablethorpe so make sure you pay a visit and before you go home ensure you try a pork, stuffing, and apple sauce roll from the cafe in Mablethorpe town. Yummy!

www.haven.com/greatuniversalB.Davies says: Went to graig tara very disapointed half board bronze chalet not very clean dirty in the cornors in all rooms, room felt damp. Outside damp and dirty. The brochure does not tell you of hidden costs such as the aquajets extreme and scuba jets etc. When I spoke to graig tara I asked them if their was a bus stop near by they told me it was 5 miles away when in fact its about 5 mins from park. There are to many amusements and we had to queue every night for one hour to get in to the atlantic bar . I wouldn't go here again.

A.Garbett says: 'My family and I went to Thorpe Park (Cleethorpes) on a £9.50 holiday. The caravan was excellent no complaints at all about that. However we were disappointed with the park facilities as its supposed to be an all activity park, our kids aged 7 & 12 were both bored with what was on offer and spent majority of time in the arcade! It was one of the longest weeks ever and we were ready to come home by Tues! Definitely wont be going again.'

J.Spencer says: 'My family and other relatives went to Caister In Sept. 06 for a long weekend, we like Norfolk and usually stay at Hopton, but as this was fully booked we settled for Caister and were very dissapointed indead!. The first caravan we were given had filthy windows, stank of curry, dirty stained carpets, a smelly bathroom and dust and grime everywhere. After complaining we were offered another caravan which was just as bad, so when we were given a third caravan we had no choice to spend the afternoon cleaning it from top to bottom as it was no cleaner than the other two. At the same time of us complaining four other groups of people had the same problem with their accomodation. If we had not been taking our elderly aunt away for a birthday treat we would have got straight back inthe car and gone home. The main clubhouse was overcrowded unless you got there very early you stood little chance of finding a table/ chairs. It was also very smokey and not suitable for young familes. Will definately not be returning to Caister or recommending it to anyone. DON'T GO TO CAISTER...IT IS A DUMP!. Haven have really let themselves down with this one.'
